Ryan Guitar's Inlays

Here are a few examples of custom inlay designs I have accomplished for my clients over the years. These inlays have been created by Larry Robinson or Harvey Leach. These two craftsmen are universally regarded as perhaps the two finest inlay artists in the world today. Many of my clients choose to have either Larry or Harvey do the inlay work on their Ryan guitar. I have made the process of ordering an inlay from these artists as simple as can be. Click here to find out the details.

Also, I now wish I had catalogued the many inlays these fellows have done for me over the last decade or so. So if you happen to have an inlay on your Ryan guitar that was done by them, I would really appreciate a nice jpeg of the inlay so I can post it here with the others in the Inlay Gallery.

If you are interested in a custom inlay, please use these examples to ignite your creativity or visit their websites. The sky is the limit.

Ordering

If a client wants something unique or designed by himself, then I use one of two inlay artists here in California; Larry Robinson or Harvey Leach, who are considered two of the finest in the world.  They inlay for me all of my one-of-a-kind inlays and anything out of the ordinary.  The cost of these inlays, of course, depends on complexity, amount of shell used and where the inlay goes (fretboard, headstock, bridge).  For these custom inlays, I have the client contact Larry or Harvey directly and then they exchange drawings, faxes, ideas and so forth to confirm a design and price.  Then I send them your fretboard at the appropriate time, they inlay it and then it is sent back to me.  This method assures that there is not a ‘third party’ (me) in the design phase where confusion can happen.  And then the client is responsible for paying Larry or Harvey directly.  This works the best for everyone and keeps things straightforward and simple.  Larry’s phone number is (707) 829-2446.  Harvey’s number is (530) 477-2938.  If you contact them, be sure to tell them you are one of my clients.  I send a lot of inlay work to them and they therefore treat my clients grandly!
